It is with great love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Allen Adrian Tegenkamp, on July 14, 2026, at the age of 65.
Born in Barrhead Alberta, on August 9, 1960, Allen lived a life defined by kindness, unwavering integrity, and devotion to his family. He was predeceased by his father, Ken Tegenkamp; his mother, Josephine Tegenkamp; his brother, Larry Tegenkamp; his sister, Judy Olson; his brother-in-law, Doug Olson and multiple other extended family members.
Allen leaves behind the love of his life, his “lovely wife”, “his Annie,” Roxanne Plischke. He was an incredibly proud father to Rachelle Green (Steve), Kyle Tegenkamp (Janessa), and Tanna Tegenkamp, and a devoted stepfather to Carla Plischke. One of his greatest joys was being Grandpa to his treasured “Ben Man,” Benny Green, and step-grandfather to Gabriel Bedford. He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters, Mavis Tegenkamp, Donna Wagoner, and Audrey Tegenkamp, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He was also a devoted and admittedly strict “Cat Dad” to Calvin.
Anyone who had the privilege of witnessing the love story of Annie and Lennie over the past 15 years knows it was something truly rare and special. Together they built a wonderful blended family founded on love, respect, laughter, and unwavering support for one another.
Allen also shared an important chapter of his life with his former wife, Giselé Boisvert, with whom he raised their three children and created many cherished family memories.
Allen’s early career was in the oilfield, proudly following in his father’s footsteps and eventually working his way up to become a driller. Later, he built a successful career as both a manual and CNC machinist with D-Valve, OLT, and Dimension Machine.
Away from work, Allen found joy in camping, quadding, kayaking, gardening, cheering on his favorite sports teams and spending time with his family. He was also an accomplished pool player, competing in leagues throughout the Edmonton area. Over the years he earned numerous trophies and qualified multiple times for tournaments in Las Vegas; an achievement he was quietly proud of.
Allen was a man of exceptional character, a strong work ethic, and an unwavering moral compass. He was dependable, generous, and always willing to lend a helping hand. His greatest pride was never measured by his accomplishments, but by the people he loved and the life he built with them. Even throughout his battle with cancer, Allen faced each day with remarkable courage and optimism.
When asked how he was doing, the answer was so often the same: “Super fantastic.” His positivity, resilience, and determination inspired everyone around him.
Our family would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the extraordinary healthcare professionals at the Devon Hospital, Cross Cancer Institute, EMS, and Unit 43 at the Grey Nuns Hospital, who cared for Allen throughout the painful and uncertain moments of his illness with exceptional skill, compassion, and kindness.
We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to the entire team of staff and volunteers at the Rosen Family Pilgrims Hospice Centre. The kindness, and genuine compassion shown not only to Allen, but to our entire family, will never be forgotten. You created a place of comfort, peace, and dignity; offering support, guidance, and countless acts of kindness that eased an incredibly difficult journey. Your center allowed us to focus on what mattered most, spending precious time together as a family.
Allen never imagined saying goodbye so soon, and he fought courageously to spend as much time as possible with those he loved. While he never expected to leave us, he had made it known that he did not wish to have a formal service. Respecting his wishes, our family will celebrate his remarkable life privately, carrying forward the love, laughter, and countless memories he leaves behind.
